Cheviot Sheepdogs was created in 2007 by Joe McRobert and Sue Horn. We are based in a beautiful setting high in the hills in the Scottish Borders, next to the river Tweed. It is here we have access to vast areas of open hill, which is ideal for bringing out the very best in the dogs that are being trained, there are also smaller meadows which are used for starting the young dogs on sheep.

Joe shepherds 3500 acres of hill land, the ground rises to 2000 ft above sea level.
Joe only has two dogs to do his work on a day to day basis, at the moment these are
Pete and Taff, he will also use one of the young dogs he is training to help out
with the work. Joe trials with Pete and Taff and has been quite successful, Pete
was born 22-
During quieter times in the shepherds year, Joe buys and brings on young dogs, which are then sold when they have gained valuable experience working on the hills.

Sue currently shepherds the 500 ewes that are on Fingland farm. At the moment she has five dogs, Zac, Fern, Queen, Jock and Wagga.
Zac was born on the 01-
21-
Fern is currently the main breeding bitch, and has reared six litters of pups.
Cheviot is the stud prefix for any litters of puppies that are bred.
